This class includes: - operation of generation facilities that produce electricity from renewable sources, e.g. gaseous biofuels, hydropower, on-shore and off-shore wind, solar photovoltaic, and thermal, geothermal and tide, wave and ocean energy.

This class excludes: - production of electricity from non-renewable sources, see 3511 - production of electricity through incineration of waste, see 3821
